Area of expertise: Minimally invasive (laparoscopic and thoracoscopic), Paediatric General Surgery and Paediatric Urology
Successfully completed undergraduate with MBBS in 1996 in Fiji and post-graduate surgical training with MMed – Surgery in 2003. Specialist Training in paediatric surgical training in Auckland and Christchurch, New Zealand from 2002 to 2005 and later in Melbourne, Australia at the Monash Medical Centre and Royal Children’s Hospital from 2006 to 2008. Attained the fellowship FRACS (Paeds) - Melbourne, Australia in 2008 before returning to Fiji and worked as a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the Fiji School of Medicine/Fiji National University and as a Consultant General & Paediatric Surgeon at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva, Fiji from 2009 to 2011. Now working as a Specialist Paediatric Surgeon/Paediatric Urologist at the Department of Paediatric Surgery at Waikato Hospital from 2012 till present.
Competent in paediatric general surgery, paediatric urology, paediatric endoscopy (bronchoscopy, gastroscopy and colonoscopy) for neonates, infants and children; with a special interest in all paediatric laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgery.
I was awarded the prestigious Rowan Nick’s Pacific Island Fellow Scholarship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons for attachment at Northshore Hospital & Starship Hospitals, Auckland in 2002.
