Professional Profile

I am a University of Auckland graduate, and received my advanced surgical training in Plastic Reconstructive Surgery in Auckland, Hamilton and Melbourne. I qualified FRACS in 2014, and then spent 18 months as a fellow at Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney, pursuing subspecialty interests in hand and microsurgery. I then returned to New Zealand in July 2015 to take up public appointments at Waikato Hospital and Thames Hospital. In addition to private practice in Hamilton, I am the only Plastic Reconstructive Surgeon providing local private service to the Coromandel region.

I am the current Waikato regional Supervisor of Training, and Deputy Chair of the New Zealand Board of Plastic Reconstructive Surgery. I am a member of both NZAPS and ASAPS. I am also involved in medical student teaching through the University of Auckland Waikato Clinical School.

I have a broad public practice covering trauma, skin cancer, hand surgery, breast and cancer reconstruction. My particular interest lies in reconstructive microsurgery and combined procedures with other specialties. The challenge and beauty of plastic surgery is that everyone is different! I firmly believe that the best outcomes cannot come from technical finesse alone, but also through listening and working together with my patients.
